Ten thousand years in the making
Before cotton reached Europe, there was linen. The Egyptians saw it as a symbol of purity and wrapped their pharaohs in it; the Mediterranean was spinning flax while silk was still a distant legend. For centuries it dressed work and celebration, the home and the trousseau. Then the twentieth century chose speed, and linen waited. It knew how to wait: well-made things are never in a hurry.
The plant that asks for almost nothing
At our latitudes, flax practically grows on its own. Rainwater is enough, treatments are minimal, and nothing is thrown away: the fibre becomes cloth, the seeds become oil, and what remains always finds a use. At the end of its life, a pure linen fabric returns to the soil without a trace. Sustainability here is not a claim — it is the nature of the plant.
How it behaves on the body
On the body, linen does what no synthetic fibre has learned yet: it breathes with you. Cool when the day is hot, warm enough when the evening comes. Every wash softens it instead of wearing it out: a well-made linen garment gets better with the years. And its creases are not a flaw to be pressed away — they are its character. Linen that looks too perfect has stopped being natural.
Linen and easywear
